SYMPTOMS
When you use an AUTOTEXT field to insert an AutoText entry into a document,
you receive a general protection (GP) fault or the following error:
Error! AutoText entry not defined.
CAUSE
This error occurs when the AutoText entry name in the AUTOTEXT field
contains more than 30 characters, which is the maximum allowed. For
example, the following AutoText name causes the above error because it
contains 32 characters:
{AUTOTEXT supercalifragalisticexpialadocio}
NOTE: An AutoText entry name, by definition, can include up to 32
characters, but Word only allows 30 in the AUTOTEXT field.
WORKAROUND
Change the AutoText entry name so it contains 30 or fewer characters.
