PRJ: Linked MS Project Object Scaled in Microsoft Word |
Q113937
When you link a Microsoft Project 4.0 project object to a document in
Microsoft Word version 6.0, the object appears scaled smaller than its full
size.
On the Macintosh, this behavior also occurs when you paste a Microsoft
Project 4.0 object to a document in Microsoft Word version 6.0.
This behavior occurs because Microsoft Word scales any pasted or linked object to fit within the margins of the document to which you paste or link the object. Because the default margins in a Microsoft Word document are 1.25 inches, the object is scaled to about 6 inches by default. The full size of the linked Microsoft Project object depends on the resolution of your video. Because the object is scaled proportionately, the object does not appear distorted.
To display a linked Microsoft Project 4.0 Project object at 100 percent of
its full size in your Microsoft Word document, do either of the following:
Note that this behavior occurs whether you insert a Microsoft Project 4.0
Project object using the Create From File tab in the Object dialog box, or
the Paste Link option in the Paste Special dialog box in Microsoft Word for
Windows version 6.0.
This is different from the behavior that occurs in Windows when you embed a
Microsoft Project 4.0 Project object in a document in Microsoft Word
version 6.0. In this case, the object does not appear scaled, because the
original width of the object is different from the original width of the
linked object.
This behavior does not occur when you link a Microsoft Project 4.0 Project
object to a Microsoft Excel worksheet or to a document in Microsoft Word
version 2.0 for Windows.
