SYMPTOMS

When you run the Setup program for Microsoft Project in the maintenance mode, and choose the Uninstall All button, the WINPROJ.INI and the PROJHELP.DLL files are not removed from your computer.

When you remove Microsoft Project from your computer using the Remove All button in the Setup program, all of the files that were installed when you ran the Microsoft Project setup program are removed with the exception of WINPROJ.INI and PROJHELP.DLL. The following items are also not removed:

The directory in which you installed Microsoft Project.
Any project files that you created that are contained in the directory in which you installed Microsoft Project.
Any subdirectories contained in the directory in which you installed Microsoft Project.

Note that the GLOBAL.MPT file is removed from your computer when you run the Setup program and choose Uninstall All. If you want to keep this file on your computer, but remove the rest of the program files, copy this file to a directory other than the directory to which you installed Microsoft Project, or rename the file.
