FIX: GP Fault Using App Studio to Open Dialog with VBX

1.00 WINDOWS kbprg kbfixlist kbbuglist --------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - The Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) included with; Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, version 1.0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== A general protection (GP) fault may be encountered while using App Studio to open a dialog containing a VBX control. Additionally, an application may encounter strange behavior, including a GP fault, following a call to the CVBControl::SetStrProperty() function. CAUSE ===== There is a known bug in a function called internally by the CVBControl::SetStrProperty() function that may cause corruption in the memory used by the VBX. This code is executed by App Studio while loading the VBX controls located on the dialog. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft Foundation Classes for Windows, version 2.0.
