BUG: Accented Characters in Memo Field Are AlteredID: Q114162

The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSInternational (accented) characters in the memo field are altered when the code page is set to something other than AUTO.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows and FoxPro 2.6 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

The word changes only if there is a space preceding the international
character. The same effect can be duplicated by issuing a MODIFY COMMAND
newfile.prg command and repeating step 6 above. If you save your memo field
and type your test words again, the problem does not occur if you begin
typing at the end of the memo field, but it does occur if you begin typing
at the beginning of the memo field.
