FIX: Error Occurs When Wrong File Added to Catalog Manager

SYMPTOMS

If an inappropriate file type is added to the Catalog Manager and an attempt is made to modify that file, an error will occur. In FoxPro for Windows, the file will remain open after the Catalog Manager is closed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows and FoxPro 2.6 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.6a for Windows and FoxPro 2.6a for MS-DOS.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

FoxPro for Windows:

1. Open the Catalog Manager. 2. Add an incorrect file, such as CONFIG.SYS, as a query. 3. Choose No in the "Was this file created in FoxPro?" dialog box. 4. Choose the Modify button. Nothing will happen. 5. Choose Modify again. The message "An error occurred while trying to open
