PRB: Transporting Screen Formats All Objects in a Single Font

SYMPTOMS

If a screen containing objects formatted for multiple fonts is transported from FoxPro for Windows to FoxPro for Macintosh, or vice versa, the objects are reformatted into a single font during the transporter process.

CAUSE

During the transport process, if the Font push button is chosen and a default font is specified, all objects will be reformatted to a single font during transport.

If no default font is specified during the transport, objects will maintain the same or similar font formatting on the new platform.

RESOLUTION

The default font is intended to be used when a matching font does not exist on both platforms. By design, choosing a default font replaces all font information with the font you specify. If you want to have multiple font formatting, do not use the Font button in the Transport dialog box.

This behavior is by design.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1. In FoxPro for Windows, create a screen using multiple fonts, such as

   Arial 10, Arial 18, and Courier 10.

2. In FoxPro for Macintosh, modify a copy of the screen. Do not specify a

   default font. The font information should remain intact.

3. Copy the screen from the Windows platform again. Modify the copy in

   FoxPro for Macintosh. When the transport screen appears, choose the Font
   button and specify any font and point size.

Note that after the screen has been transported, all the objects will be formatted in the chosen font.
