XL: No Prompt to Save Changes After Tools Reference Change |

The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel, if you use the References dialog box to remove a reference to an object library file, add-in file, or another workbook, and this is the only change you make to the saved workbook, then you are not prompted to save the change when you close the workbook. Note that you are prompted to save changes when you close a workbook after you ADD a reference using the References dialog box.
WORKAROUNDTo avoid losing the changes you make in the References dialog box, choose Save from the File menu after you make the changes and before you close the workbook file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
