XL5: Undo Sized With Window Doesn't Restore Picture Size

Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q114693
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, if you paste a cell, object or chart as a picture on a chart sheet, and you choose Undo Sized With Window from the Edit menu, the picture is not restored to its original size.

Note that this behavior occurs when you have copied the picture using the Copy Picture command, or the Camera tool.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

To avoid distorting any pictures you have pasted on your chart sheet, when you want to "undo" the Sized With Window command, choose the Sized With Window command again from the View menu instead of choosing the Undo command from the Edit menu. This selects or clears the Sized With Window option, performing the same action as the Undo command, and restores any pictures on the chart sheet to their original size.
