FoxPro creates a delimited ASCII text file if you select Word For Windows 2.0, Word For MS-DOS, or Other as the word processor. Date fields are converted to the "YYYYMMDD" date format in the file.

For example, the date, May 7th, 1990, is stored as {05\07\90} in a FoxPro table by default. This date becomes "19900507" (without the quotation marks) when the Mail Merge Wizard stores it in a delimited ASCII text file.
