PRJ4: Toolbar Buttons Not Displayed As Expected |
Q115239
When you use Microsoft Project for Windows, toolbar buttons may not be
correctly displayed. For example, toolbar buttons may be displayed in
reverse video, lines may be drawn through them, or they may be unavailable
(dimmed).
This problem is linked to the type of video card and video driver that is
currently selected: it normally occurs with high-resolution video drivers
that are using at least 256 colors or are running at a high resolution (800
by 600, or 1024 by 768 or higher) mode. Specific drivers and cards that
this problem has been known to occur with include: video drivers for the S3
chips sets, ATI video cards, Diamond Stealth, and Orchid video drivers.
Many video drivers are having problems with the way that Microsoft Project is displaying the toolbar icons. These problems do not usually occur in other applications that have the same type of toolbars, such as Microsoft Excel version 5.0, Microsoft Word version 6.0, and Microsoft Access version 2.0. Microsoft Project version 4.0 has slightly different toolbar functionality than these other applications; these differences are not being taken into account by the video driver manufacturers.
To resolve this problem, you should obtain a copy of the latest video
driver from your display or video card manufacturer. To verify that you are
using the most up-to-date driver, contact your display or video card
manufacturer.
