KB115366 - Works: Unable to Run Works Maintenance Mode Setup

SYMPTOMS

To make changes to a Works installation, you must run setup in maintenance mode. Maintenance mode setup is automatically accessed if you run setup again after a successful initial installation.

Works setup may fail to access the maintenance mode if any of the following conditions exist:

The Setup.stf file is not in the Works 3.0 SETUP subdirectory (C:\MSWORKS\SETUP by default), or the Works 4.0 SETUP40 or Works 4.5 SETUP45 subdirectory (C:\PROGRAM FILES\MSWORKS\SETUP40 by default)

You may receive the following error:
Setup is unable to open the data file 'C:\MSWORKS\SETUP\SETUP.STF';please run Setup again from where you originally ran it.
NOTE: This example assumes that Works is installed in the C:\MSWORKS directory.
For Works 3.0, 3.0a, and 3.0b, the information for SETUP.STF is not in the WIN.INI file or the path is not shown properly. The WIN.INI section for SETUP.STF is as follows and should be typed exactly as shown under the header for each version:

NOTE: The following examples assume that Works is installed in the C:\MSWORKS directory.

US English Works version 3.00:
