The Microsoft Word ODA (FOD-26) Converter Kit is now available for three platforms. The ODA kit is available for Word 6.0, 6.0a, and 6.0c for Windows, Word 6.0 for NT, and Word 6.0 and 6.0.1 for the Macintosh and Power Macintosh. This converter enables Word 6.x for Windows, Word 6.0 for NT, and Word 6.x for the Macintosh to read and write files in the Open Document Architecture (ODA) FOD-26 file format.

This package contains a converter which allows Microsoft Word 6.0 to read and write files in the Open Document Architecture ODA FOD26 file format. Please note that Microsoft grants you the right to use this converter solely in conjunction with an existing licensed copy of Microsoft Word, and your use of the converter is further subject to the end user license agreement you received with your copy of Microsoft Word.

To install the converter, follow the setup instructions included in this letter for the appropriate platform. The kit includes software for Windows, Windows NT, Macintosh and Power Macintosh.

Setup Instructions for Windows and Windows NT:

  1. Start Microsoft Windows.


  2. Insert the disk labeled Disk 1 - Setup in drive A.


  3. In Program Manager, click Run on the File menu.


  4. Type a:\setup and press ENTER.


Setup Instructions for the Macintosh and Power Macintosh

  1. Quit Microsoft Word if it is running on your Macintosh.


  2. Insert the disk labeled Disk 1 -Setup in your floppy disk drive.


  3. Copy all the files from Setup to the "Word Extensions" folder. This is located in the folder where Word is installed.


  4. Restart Word. The converter should now be properly installed.


Release Notes

The converter cannot support conversion of formatting features in Microsoft Word which are not part of ODA FOD26. A list is included in the file Odalimit.doc which is installed with the converter.

Installationsanleitung

  1. Starten Sie Microsoft Windows.

  4. Geben Sie a:\setup ein, und dr[ASCII 252]cken Sie dann die EINGABETASTE.


Anmerkung zu dieser Version

Die Umwandlung von Formatierungsmerkmalen in Microsoft Word, die nicht dem ODA-Format FOD26 entsprechen, wird von diesem Konvertierungsprogramm nicht unterst[ASCII 252]tzt. Beachten Sie hierzu die Datei Odalimit.doc, die zusammen mit dem Konvertierungsprogramm installiert wird.
