SYMPTOMS
Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
When you use the Find tool in a form in Datasheet view, you receive a
general protection (GP) fault error message that closes Microsoft Access.
This symptom occurs only when you select a field that meets one of the
following conditions before you use the Find tool:
To work around this problem, design your form to simulate Datasheet
view. You can do this by setting the form's DefaultView property to
Continuous Form and its ViewsAllowed property to Form and by shrinking its
detail section to eliminate all white space above and below its controls.
Note that this is a preventative measure, not a way to correct the problem.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version
2.0. This behavior no longer occurs in Microsoft Access for Windows 95
version 7.0.
