------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher versions 2.0, 2.0a ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== You receive the error message "Sharing Violation on Drive X:" (where X is the drive letter where Windows is installed) when you open a publication that was saved using a different printer driver. CAUSE ===== This error can occur if you have the version 2.0b, 2.0c, or 2.0d of the Canon BJC-600 printer driver set as the default printer in Windows. WORKAROUNDS =========== Set an alternative printer as the default printer in Control Panel. -or- Choose Cancel in the Sharing Violation dialog box, save the file, and reopen it. MORE INFORMATION ================ A sharing violation does NOT occur if you do the following: 1. Do NOT load SHARE.EXE at the MS-DOS level. 2. Make sure VSHARE.386 is loaded in the SYSTEM.INI file. 3. Make sure Windows is running in enhanced mode. This error has also been experienced with the BJC-4000, although no file display, operation, or printing problems seemed apparent.
