PRA: MS Access Setup Under MS Windows NT 3.1 Requires a Mouse

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

When you are running the Microsoft Access Setup program under Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1, you must have a mouse to choose the Typical, Custom/Complete, Laptop, or Workstation Setup buttons. The assigned hot keys for these buttons will not work.

RESOLUTION

Use a mouse or other pointing device to choose the Setup option you want. Note that a mouse or other pointing device is one of the requirements listed on the Microsoft Access package.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

Install Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1.
Install Microsoft Access version 2.0.
In Setup's Main dialog box, try to use one of the hot keys (T, C, L, or W) to choose a Setup option.
