SYMPTOMS
Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
The Attach Table and Import commands on the File menu are not available
(appear dimmed) when you are using a Microsoft Access version 1.x database
in Microsoft Access version 2.0.
CAUSE
You cannot change the design of a version 1.x database in Microsoft Access
version 2.0. Importing data or attaching tables is a design change.
RESOLUTION
If you want to import external data files or attach tables to the version
1.x database, first convert the database to version 2.0 format. After you
convert the database to version 2.0 format, you can make design changes.
To convert a version 1.x database to version 2.0 format, follow these
steps:
