SYMPTOMS

In the "Programmer's Reference Guide for C," the documentation for dbcursoropen has no information regarding the CUR_FORWARD value for scrollopt. There is also no mention of this in Chapter 9 "Microsoft SQL Server Cursors."

WORKAROUND

In implementations of DB-Library versions 4.21 and earlier the CUR_FORWARD scrolling option behaves like a CUR_DYNAMIC except that it does not allow backward scrolling.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in DB-Library version 4.20.00. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
