The information in this article applies to:

    • Apple ImageWriter

    SYMPTOMS

The appearance of printed text varies depending on whether you print to an ImageWriter or a LaserWriter. Text printed on an ImageWriter is slightly expanded when compared to text printed on a LaserWriter.

    CAUSE

This situation is caused by the difference in resolution (or dots per inch [dpi]) between the ImageWriter and LaserWriter.

    RESOLUTION

The ImageWriter printer driver includes an option called Tall Adjusted. To adjust text printed on an ImageWriter to match text printed on a LaserWriter, select Tall Adjusted before formatting or printing documents to the ImageWriter. Use the following steps to select Tall Adjusted:

    1. From the File menu, choose Page Setup.
    2. Select the Tall Adjusted check box and click OK.
