PowerBook Hangs in Sleep Mode When Using Magna Empower

SYMPTOMS

Your PowerBook computer stops responding (hangs) after automatically turning off the power when Magna Empower is installed in the System Folder. This problem occurs only when Sleep mode is active and the PowerBook is operating from the battery.

NOTE: Empower is an extension that provides password protection during Sleep mode on the PowerBook.

CAUSE

Magna Technical Support has confirmed this to be a problem with versions 4.0.8 and earlier of Empower.

RESOLUTION

Magna recommends that customers upgrade to Empower version 4.1 to correct this problem.
