PRJ4: Error Opening Project Files From Network Drive |
Q117497
When you attempt to open a file that was saved to a networked drive such as a Network File System (NFS) network, you may receive one of the following error messages:
-or-Unknown Subproject
Invalid Filename
These error messages occur because of the way these networks store their path structure. On some networks, the path for Microsoft Project 4.0 will be appended to the subproject or the resource sharing the path structure. On Banyan Vines networks, the backslash characters (\) will be replaced by at signs (@). On other networks, the backslashes will be replaced by forward slashes (/).
To correct this problem, change the "Store Net Names=Yes" in the
WINPROJ4.INI file to "Store Net Names=No." After this change has been made,
you will be able to open the files successfully.
