SYMPTOMS

The Last Saved date and Last Saved By information do not reflect the current date and author when you save a Word document in a foreign file format. (To locate these items, choose Summary Info from the File menu, and choose the Statistics button.)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 2.x, 6.0, and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

To update the Last Saved date or Last Saved By information, first save the file as a Word for Windows document, then save it in the foreign file format.
