SYMPTOMS

When you are using a computer with the Cyrix upgrade chip and the Cyrix caching program, you will receive the "RUN command failed" error message when SETUP.APP is attempting to compress files.

CAUSE

According to Cyrix, their caching program affects Window's ability to create and open MS-DOS prompts or windows within Windows.

RESOLUTION

In order to solve this problem, Cyrix made some custom changes to a customer's Cyrix caching program. For more information, contact Cyrix Customer Support at (800) 462-9749 or (214) 994-8387.
