When you print from Word for Windows to a shared printer over a Novell
network, the printout may contain "garbage" characters, any graphics in
your document may print incompletely, or the document may fail to print.
It may also drop characters.
You may be able to print successfully from other Windows-based applications
such as Windows Write and Windows Paintbrush.
This problem may occur when your printer is connected to a network server using Novell NetWare if any of the following Novell printing options are set:
Form Feed
Enable Tabs
Enable Timeout
Enable Banner
Method 1: Use the Novell NetWare Printcon utility or Windows Control Panel
(choose the Printers icon) to clear the Novell printing options
listed above.
Method 2: (You must have supervisory rights or be a PrintServer Operator.)
On the Novell Server, start PConsole, choose Print Server
Information, choose the print server name, choose Print Server
Configuration, choose Printer Configuration, choose the printer
model, and increase the "Buffer Size in K" setting from 3K to
10K.
