How to Link a Milestone to Begin on the Next Working Day |
Q118347
When a milestone is linked in a finish-to-start relationship, its scheduled start date may be the same as the predecessor's scheduled finish date. This behavior will occur if the milestone task has a constraint of As Soon As Possible and the predecessor task does not allow lag time.
Because the duration of a milestone task is 0 (0d), the task can start on
the end date of the predecessor task. To schedule a milestone to begin the
next day, use a duration of 0ed (elapsed days), as in the following
example:
Predecessor Finish Milestone Dur. Start
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Task1 7/15/94 5:00pm Task2 0d 7/15/94 5:00pm
Task1 7/15/94 5:00pm Task2 0ed 7/16/94 8:00am
Task1 7/15/94 4:59pm Task2 0ed 7/15/94 4:59pm NOTE: This will work ONLY if the predecessor task's finish date is equal to a nonworking time.
