Works: Creating a Horizontal Y Axis Chart Title

Convert the chart into a graphic in Microsoft Draw, and add the horizontal Y axis title there. You can save or print this graphic in a Works Word Processor document as follows:

1. Move the chart to Draw:
   1. Create the chart without a Y axis title.
   2. While viewing the chart, click Copy from the Edit menu.
   3. Create a new Works Word Processor document.
   4. From the Insert menu, click Drawing. Microsoft Draw will appear.
   5. From the Edit menu, click Paste. The chart should appear in Draw.
2. Add the horizontal Y axis title:
   1. Select the Text tool button in Draw (it has the letter A on it).
   2. Click the area on the chart where you would like the first letter of the horizontal Y axis title to go.
   3. Type the Title you need, and press ENTER.
3. Place the modified chart in a Works Word Processor document. To do so, from the File menu, click Exit and return to <document>, where <document> is the name of the Word Processor document created above.

Now you can save or print the Word Processor document with the modified chart.

Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a

Works 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5a allow you to add a "Y-axis title orientation."

To add a Y-Axis Title Orientation, do the following:

1. On the Edit menu, click Titles.
2. Type the title in the Vertical (Y) Axis.
3. Click OK.
4. Select the Title.
5. On the Format menu, click Font & Style.
6. Select one of the three choices in Y-Axis Title Orientation.
   • Vertical from bottom

   • Horizontal from top
   
   
   
7. Click OK.
