SYMPTOMS
Your Windows NT computer with a Hewlett-Packard (HP) EtherTwist 27248a 32-
bit EISA network adapter and TCP/IP network protocol exhibits asymmetrical
performance problems. That is, you have problems transmitting, but not
receiving or vise versa. For example, copying files to a Windows NT
computer over the network works, but copying files from a Windows NT
computer does not. Your computer can also exhibit slow performance when
pinged from a client. You can get no response at all, or responses may
take a long time (up to 950ms, for example).
CAUSE
Hewlett-Packard Technical Support is researching this problem.
RESOLUTION
Hewlett-Packard has released a self-extracting archived file, NT.EXE,
containing a new driver, NTEISA.SYS dated 6/94 which corrects the problem
in some cases. You can download it from the HP BBS at (916) 785-8275, or
from the HP Systems forum on Compuserve. The filename is NT.EXE.
NOTE: This adapter is not listed on the May '94 Hardware Compatibility
List (HCL).
