Word "Unexpectedly Quits" on Centris or Quadra with CD-ROM

SYMPTOMS

When starting Word on a Macintosh Centris 610 or Quadra 650, you receive an error that the application has "unexpectedly quit."

This problem can occur when you start Word after using Apple's CD Remote program, designed to play audio compact discs using the CD-ROM drive.

RESOLUTION

Apple has corrected this problem in Update 3.0 (System 7.1.3) for System 7.1.1. For more information on obtaining this patch, contact Apple Technical Support at (800) 767-2775.
