SYMPTOMS
When the Microsoft Mail Gateway to X.400 is processing outgoing messages
from Microsoft Mail for Appletalk Networks, this error may be generated:
ERROR 3 (creating P1 originator address): Malformed address: type <2>

CAUSE
This error indicates that no address conversion exists for the sending
network/postoffice.
RESOLUTION
Follow these steps to add a new entry:
- Go into the X.400 3.2 Admin program.
- Select "Addressing Conversion" in the Addressing section.
- Type in the Mail Connection Proxy Network name: MACNET.
- Fill in the X.400 addressing fields appropriate to your system.
- Select Add.
- Restart the X400 Gateway to so it reads in this information.
