Pizazz Plus is a graphics package that captures and manipulates screen images. Many of the formats supported by Pizazz Plus are available for use in Word 2.x and 6.0.

Pizazz Plus file formats available to Word include BMP, EPS, GIF, PCX, TIF, TGA, and WPG; however, Pizazz Plus does not support WMF (Windows Metafile Format), which is the main graphics format used by Word. Other formats that Pizazz Plus supports include BBM, CUT, DIB, IFF, MAC, MSP, PIC, RIX, RLE, VMG, and others.

Pizazz Plus supports over 500 different printers and most of the popular video standards. Pizazz Plus can be loaded as an MS-DOS application (using INSTALL.EXE) or as a Windows application (using SETUP.EXE).

Pizazz Plus provides you with options to crop, rotate, and resize graphic images easily, as well as to modify the color and shading. Black-and-white, shades of gray, and 16- to 256-color images are supported. Color images can easily be converted to black-and-white or gray-scale images.

Pizazz Plus Images and Word

Pizazz Plus images lack clarity and color definition when they are inserted in Word 2.x. Colors are badly skewed and pictures appear "blurry." This occurs because Word 2.x supports only 16 colors. Pizazz Plus images inserted in Word 6.0 are sharp and clear. However, while the quality of the images is excellent, the sizes of some images are altered slightly.

GIF and TIF file sizes stay true when inserted into Word 6.0. BMP files are slightly larger than original size as a result of the BMP converter for Word.

Word supports TGA files, and file sizes are normal for these conversions. The TGA filter is available on our Supplemental Conversions Disk.

Word EPS format is incompatible with the Pizazz Plus EPS format. When you try to open a file in the EPS format coming from Word, you will receive an error message:
File incompatible with expected format.
When attempting to convert a WPG graphic, Word produces an error message
File does not contain a bitmap.
