WD6X: Double-Clicking Clip Art Starts TeachText and Gives Error

SYMPTOMS

If you double-click one of the clip art files supplied with Microsoft Word for the Macintosh (located in the Clip Art folder in the Word program folder), the computer beeps and the following error message occurs:

   TeachText cannot display this kind of document.

CAUSE

The clip art files are not TeachText documents, even though they use a TeachText icon.

RESOLUTION

To use the clip art files supplied with Word, open them in Word using the Picture command on the Insert menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition.
