SYMPTOMS

If you run the Word Setup installation maintenance program and choose the Remove All button to uninstall Word for the Macintosh, Setup does not remove all the installed files from your hard disk.

CAUSE

By design, Setup leaves the shared applications and files it installed in your Microsoft folder. Setup also leaves system items such as fonts, settings files, and the Registration Database. Word Setup does not remove the items listed below from your hard disk when you choose the Remove All installation option. (Setup installs all these items if you run a Complete or Typical installation; if you run a Custom installation, Setup installs only those items that relate to the features you select.)

NORMAL.DOT (if you saved any changes to your Normal template,
Setup does not remove this file)
