SYMPTOMS
Opening large Word 2.0 and 6.0 for Windows documents in Works 3.0 for
Windows may produce one of the following error messages:
Cannot open file
Not enough memory to complete operation.
Word cannot open the document.
CAUSE
This usually occurs with large documents (greater than 2 MB) that
contain a large number of color bitmap graphics. This limitation
appears to be caused by the converter.
RESOLUTION
- In Word, divide the document and save it as two separate files.
- Open both documents in Works and save as Works 3.0 documents.
- Combine them into one document, and save this as a Works 3.0 for
Windows 3.0.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Works version 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5a
for Windows 95.
