SYMPTOMS
When you try to install either the Microsoft Natural Keyboard with
IntelliType software version 1.0 or the Microsoft Home and Standard Mouse
with IntelliPoint software version 1.0 at the MS-DOS level and you select
an unavailable drive letter, incorrect error messages are displayed. These
messages may indicate that you need to make more disk space available or
run a custom installation, rather than use a valid drive letter.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, check the following items and adjust as necessary:
- Make sure the drive on which you are installing the mouse or keyboard is
an actual drive.
- Make sure you are not using any extended characters.
- Do not use a RAM drive unless your computer preserves this memory when
it is turned off.
- If the selected drive is a network drive, make sure the computer
connects to a network each time it is turned on.
- Make sure there is enough available space.
