SYMPTOMS

When you run the System Info feature in your Microsoft application, it may incorrectly report negative free disk space.

CAUSE

System Info reports negative free disk space on very large hard disks. (Microsoft has reproduced this problem on a 2-gigabyte hard disk.)

Microsoft System Info is supplied with the following Windows-based Microsoft applications:

• Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c



• Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0



• Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows, version 4.0



• Microsoft Access for Windows, version 2.0



• Microsoft Publisher for Windows, version 2.0



• Microsoft Works for Windows, version 3.0

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
