Hidden Line Numbering Not Displayed with Show/Hide

SYMPTOMS

If you format a document to include line numbering and modify the Line Number style to be hidden, your line numbering will not display when you toggle the Show/Hide button.

This behavior affects whether you can view the hidden line numbering only; it does not prevent you from printing hidden line numbering.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

To view the line numbering, modify the Line Number style to remove the Hidden attribute.

To print hidden line numbering

  1. From the File menu, choose Print.
2. Choose the Options button. 3. Select the Hidden Text option and choose the OK button. 4. Choose the OK button to print.
