WD: WordBasic Error 124 Running MacWord Macro Created in WinWord |
Q120900
When you create a macro that contains Macintosh-specific WordBasic commands in Word version 6.0, 6.0a, or 6.0c for Windows and try to run the macro in Word for Macintosh 6.0, the following error occurs:
WordBasic Error 124, "Unknown Command, Subroutine, or Function"
To enable the Macintosh-specific commands, transfer the template to the
Macintosh operating environment and open the macro in Word 6.0 for the
Macintosh. Edit the macro by inserting a space or adding a comment, and
then close and save the macro.
After you edit and save the macro in Macintosh Word, a process called
"dirtying," the Macintosh-specific commands should run without error.
Dirtying the macro in Macintosh Word is necessary only once. Ideally, you
should dirty the macro once prior to distributing the macro to other
Macintosh Word users.
Macintosh-specific commands are those WordBasic commands that are available only on the Macintosh platform. The following example contains the Macintosh-specific command MacID$().
Sub Main
a$ = MacID$("TEXT")
End Sub Microsoft provides programming examples for illustration only, without warranty either
