WD6X: Removing Macro from Template Removes from Menu |
Q121101
If you delete a macro from a template, and if you have a macro with the
same name in your Normal template (Normal.dot) that is also assigned to a
menu, Word for Windows also removes the macro from the menu in Normal.dot.
For example, if MyMacro exists in both My_memo.dot and in the Normal
template, and if MyMacro is assigned to a menu in the Normal template, Word
for Windows removes MyMacro from the menu in the Normal template when you
delete MyMacro in My_memo.dot.
Word does not delete the macro from the Normal template; Word only removes
it from the menu.
By contrast, this does not happen with a macro that you assign to a toolbar
button in your Normal template.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
