You can print text vertically in Publisher by using the WordArt feature.

STATUS
======

This feature was added to Publisher 3.0. A text frame in Publisher 3.0 may
be rotated without using WordArt.

To print vertical text
----------------------

1. Select the WordArt button on the left toolbar.

2. Click and drag your mouse to create a WordArt box.

3. Type your text in the Enter Your Text Here box.

4. On the upper toolbar, click the down arrow to the right "Plain Text."

5. Choose the Top To Bottom arrow. The Top To Bottom feature is the box
   that contains a vertical arrow pointing downwards, which is located on
   the second line of symbols.

6. Select the sidewards "A" button on the upper toolbar. This will rotate
   the characters to they will be on top of each other.

7. Click on a blank part of the page to return to Publisher.

The text will be placed vertically, and you can print the publication as
usual.
