SUMMARY

By default, Microsoft Word for the Macintosh displays publishers and subscribers similarly: that is, as text in your document. As a result, you cannot tell the difference between a publisher (which Word marks with a bookmark) and a subscriber (which Word includes in your document using a SUBSCRIBER field) unless you change the View options.

To change the View options, click Options on the Tools menu (in Word 98 click Preferences) and then click the View tab. To view publishers, click to select the Bookmarks check box; and to view subscribers, click to select the Field Codes check box, and then click OK.

MORE INFORMATION

You can also locate publishers in your document using the Go To command on the Edit menu.

Using the Go To Command to Locate Publishers

  1. On the Edit menu, click Go To.
  2. In the Go To What box, click Bookmark.
  3. In the Enter Bookmark Name box, Word lists the publishers with the name INTERN_LINK# (where # is a number Word assigns when you create the publisher). Select the bookmark name for a publisher and then click Go To.
Similarly, you can use the Find or Replace command on the Edit menu to locate subscribers.

Using the Find or Replace Command to Locate Subscribers

  1. On the Edit menu, click Find or click Replace.
  2. Type the following in the Find What box and then click Find Next:

    ^d subscriber

NOTE: Fields codes must be showing for the above steps to function Properly.
