WD: Can't Type in Document After Running Find or Replace Command

SYMPTOMS
If you use the Find or Replace commands on the Edit menu and then close
the Find or Replace dialog box, you may be unable to type in your document.
NOTE: This behavior does not occur in Word for Windows.
CAUSE
This problem occurs only if you do all of the following:
- After you perform the Find or Replace operation, click OK in the "Word
has finished searching..." message box.
-and-
- Open and then close the Find What list.
-and-
- Click the Close button.
When you try to type in your Word document, nothing happens.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, click the mouse in the Word document window to
reactivate it.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the
Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
