PRA: DBStruct Truncates Value Text After 255 Characters

    SYMPTOMS

    Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

    When you use the DBStruct sample application included with the Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit (ADT), the text displayed in the Value box is truncated after 255 characters.

    STATUS

    Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

    Steps to Reproduce Problem

    1. Start Microsoft Access and open the sample database DBSTRUCT.MDB (this database is normally in the ACCESS\ADT subdirectory).
    2. Open the DBStruct form in Form view, and then choose the Analyze button.
    3. In the File Name box, select the sample database NWIND.MDB (this database is normally in the ACCESS\SAMPAPPS subdirectory), and then choose OK. Note that analysis of the NWIND database may take several minutes.
    4. When the analysis is finished, choose the Examine button.
    5. In the Object box, select the QueryDef check box, and then select the Employee Sales By Country (Parameter) query in the Name box.
    6. In the Property box, select SQL in the Name box. Note that the text in the Value box is truncated after 255 characters.
