SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

When you are adding or editing file entries, the View Files button is unavailable in the Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit Setup Wizard.

CAUSE

The View Files button becomes unavailable when you add a file that has dependents, such as an .OCX file, and close the Add File window.

RESOLUTION

To make the View Files button available again, reselect the file with dependents in the File Name box.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

Start the Setup Wizard.
Choose the Add File button.
Choose the Build button to the right of the File Name box.
In the File Name box, select MSACAL20.OCX (usually located in the ACCESS\ADT subdirectory), and then choose OK.
When you are prompted "The file you've selected depends on 1 file(s). Do you want to see a list?" choose No.
Note that the View Files button is still available.
Choose OK to close the Add File window.
Choose either the Edit button or the Add File button. Note that the View Files button is not available.
