The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Select
  • Microsoft LAN Manager version 2.2

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft CD Select allows you to make disk sets of various Microsoft products including Microsoft LAN Manager. When you make LAN Manager disks, the next step is to boot from the target computer with OS/2 Installation Disk A or OS/2 Installation Disk B. If the installation disks were formatted using the MS-DOS FORMAT command or you used 1.44 MB disks, the following error message appears:

   Non-System disk or disk error
Replace and press any key when ready

RESOLUTION

If you used the MS-DOS FORMAT command, format the disks using the OS/2 1.3 FORMAT command before running SELECT. If you used 1.44 MB disks, use 1.2 MB disks instead.
