SYMPTOMS

The first time you save a Microsoft Project file to an Access database you are prompted for the name of the Microsoft Access (MDB) file. However, after the first time you save the file, you will not be prompted to specify the MDB filename.

CAUSE

The first time you use the Save To Database command to save a file, the MDB filename is stored in the Text2 field of the Project Summary task. When you use the Save To Database command to save the same file again, the filename in the Text2 field is used automatically.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do the following to remove the filename from the Text2 field of the Project Summary task:

1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.



2. Select the View tab, and then select (place an X in) the Project Summary Task check box, and choose OK.



3. Insert the Text2 field to your current task table.



4. Delete the filename reference to the MDB file displayed in Text2 field of the Project Summary Task.



5. From the Tools menu, choose Multiple Projects, and choose Save To Database.
