BUG: FoxDoc GP Faults When Default Index Extension Set to IDX

SYMPTOMS

A general protection (GP) fault occurs in FOXDOC.FLL at 0003:96F7 when a program contains the following command and the FoxDoc default extension for indexes is set to IDX:

   DELETE FILE "filename.cdx"

WORKAROUND

Set the FoxDoc default extension for indexes to CDX. Changing the Default Extensions/Index Files to CDX prevents the GP fault.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. Create a one line program that has the following command, and make it

   the main and only program in a project:

   DELETE FILE "<filename>.cdx"

2. Create a FoxDoc configuration file that uses your new test project as

   the main file and has the following selections:

      Create Formatted Source Code Files - Checked
                       Add File Headings - Checked
                Put into Heading/Indexes - Checked
                Write Procedure Headings - Checked

      Other Options/Extensions
           Default Extensions/Index Files - IDX

3. Generate the application, and you will get the GP fault.
