Font Missing in Font Substitution Dialog Box |
Q123960
A font contained in a document may appears as "missing" when you are
viewing the Font Substitution dialog box. (To view the Font Substitution
dialog box, choose Options from the Tools menu, select the Compatibility
tab, and then choose the Font Substitution button.) A font may appear as
"missing" if both of the following conditions occur:
When the "Show Only TrueType Fonts in Applications" option is selected in the Control Panel Fonts utility, Microsoft Windows refrains from listing non-TrueType fonts when Word requests a list of fonts. Word considers any font that is contained in the document but not in the font listing to be missing. Word is not aware of the "Show Only TrueType Fonts in Applications" option setting. When Word asks Windows to load the font, however, the font is loaded correctly.
