MXL5: Precision as Displayed Fails with Macintosh System 7.1

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you select the Precision As Displayed check box on the Calculation tab of the Options dialog box, Microsoft Excel changes the underlying values of numbers to match the displayed values. Depending on the values you use, you may not receive the results you expect when you have this option selected.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use a format other than General, to format the values.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
