Line by Line Scrolling Does Not Work in MS-DOS-Based Editor

SYMPTOMS
Pressing CTRL+UP ARROW and CTRL+DOWN ARROW to scroll through text does not
work under Windows NT when NUM LOCK is active.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, turn off NUM LOCK. This allows both the
extended set of arrow keys, as well as the numeric keypad arrow keys to be
used with the CTRL key.
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATION
You can press CTRL+UP ARROW and CTRL+DOWN ARROW to scroll through a text
file in Microsoft text editors (such as MS-DOS Editor and Microsoft C7
Programmers Workbench) and still keep the current line is at the top of the
file.
