  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

In the versions of Microsoft Excel listed above, when you select the Labels check box in the Histogram Analysis dialog box, you may receive unexpected results. If either the first row or the first column contains labels and you have selected the Labels check box, you may receive either of the following problems:

  • You receive the error message:

Input Range cannot contain non-numeric data

    -or-

  • The output table displays incorrect labels

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

To prevent the error described above, you should check the Labels checkbox in the Histogram dialog box if the first row or the first column of the Input Range contains labels for the data. These labels, however, will not be used in the output generated for the Histogram.
